Beyond North
A brand and booking website for two cabins on Scotland's far north coast: the last stop before the Orkney ferry.

Most guests are passing through. The brand had to give them a reason to stop.
Overview
Beyond North is two timber cabins, Drift and Haar, at Upper Gills in Caithness. They sit a mile and a half off the NC500, close to the Gills Bay ferry to Orkney. Base Camp built the brand from the name up and designed the Webflow site that now takes its bookings.
Outcome
Taking bookings since December 2025, with guests rating the cabins 5.0 on Google, 4.98 on Airbnb and 9.6 on Booking.com.

Challenge
The owner came to Base Camp in November 2024 with cabins under construction and no brand. The site is open moorland at the top of Scotland, and most guests are passing through on the NC500 or heading for Orkney.
The brand had to give people a reason to stop. The website had to turn that into a booking, and make booking direct the obvious choice.
Role
- Brand strategy and positioning, from the first call in November 2024.
- Identity: logo lockups, colour palette and typography.
- Names for the two cabins.
- A photography brief: “Calm in the wild”.
- Webflow design and build, with a CMS for the cabins, journal, reviews and local guide.
- Booking through Inn Style, built into the site.
- Ongoing support: a conversion and search round in October 2026, analytics and the Google Business Profile.

Where Adventure Rests
The logo stacks BEYOND over NORTH beside a hand-drawn frame, set in Haar Midnight. The line is Where Adventure Rests, with Wild Stays. Peaceful Rest. Adventure Awaits. beneath it. The palette is named for the place: Foyle Green, Haar Midnight, Storm Crest and Machair Drift. Satoshi and Novela carry the type. The cabins take their names from the sea: Haar, after the fog that rolls in off the North Atlantic, and Drift.

Calm in the wild
The photography brief set one rule: this is not a summer-holiday brand. Matt Buckley shot the cabins to it in April 2026: low light, weather, timber, and the moor in every window.

The last stop before Orkney
The site leads with the place, not the bed. The homepage opens on the cabins at dusk and one line, “The last stop before Orkney”, then gives the two cabins, the reviews and the practical reasons to stay in a single scroll: self check-in, just off the NC500, minutes from the ferry.
A page for each cabin
Haar and Drift each have their own page: who it sleeps, what’s included, the price from, and the reviews. A Check dates bar stays on screen on mobile, so booking is always one tap away.

Answers before questions
A local guide, a journal written for search, a page for the night before the ferry, and Plan Your Stay answer guests’ questions before they ask. Reviews from Google, Airbnb and Booking.com sit on the site, and a price-match promise backs booking direct.
